William and the crypt

Here is my portrait of William Walker (1869–1918). William Walker worked as a diver, the story of how he dived in the pitch dark, dirty, water filled crypt of Winchester Cathedral capture my imagination. He worked five days a week, 6 hours at a time, for over 6 years placing the concrete to fix the foundations and save the Cathedral from collapse.

New year, new plan, more art

I am full of excitement and energy for this new year. I have a buzzing head, full of ideas and I am working hard to get them out of here and onto paper or wood/canvas. My aim for this year is to become more organised, to allow me even more time in my studio. I have completely cleaned and rearranged my studio, I brought a plan chest and managed to fit many of my drawings and paintings inside, freeing some much needed room. It is now so much better and easier for me to work in. I stocked up on supplies (thanks to my parents kind Christmas gifts of art shop vouchers) and have started a number of new works. So far so good.

I have stocked my shop with a new affordable print from the “While we sleep series” and a new range of gift cards featuring my drawings and paintings. I also have some work for sale with Swoon Gallery in LA  and another drawing in an exhibition in Rome.

I want to thank everyone who reads my blog and supports my artwork. If you like what you see you can also find me on facebook, twitter and instagram.

Wishing you all a fantastic and happy year to come.
