“While we are asleep” is a series of paintings that I have been making about what happens around us when we close our eyes and stop paying attention to our environment. What happens when we switch off, a dreamy reminder of the way we live our lives. With these paintings I have also been experimenting with my mediums. Using acrylics with a few smaller paintings, usually I paint with oil or egg tempera and for the first time I tried out painting with oil on paper with the top three paintings pictured below. I did like painting on the paper Arches paper for Oil and will definitely use it again. A few of the works from this series will be on exhibition on the Brixton Art trail, Brixton Village, London from June 15th – September 1st 2013 more information here .
