We may have seen the Murray-Darling Basin’s first fish extinction
It is feared that a pygmy perch is the first freshwater fish species to be driven to extinction in the Murray-Darling Basin. Three years of successive surveys have failed to find any of the fish, and experts say changes we’ve made to the river are being felt across the whole system.
